Tien Giang green-skinned pomelo, especially from the Cho Gao area, is a high-end specialty fruit, famous for its green peel, pink flesh, sweet and refreshing taste, and few seeds. This fruit tree yields high economic returns, and is widely exported and consumed thanks to good intensive farming techniques. Cho Gao is the main source of raw materials.

According to reports, in recent days, the price of green-skinned pomelo—a delicious fruit in Tien Giang province—has remained high; grade 1 green-skinned pomelos weighing 1.2-1.6kg are being purchased by traders at prices starting from 40,000 VND/kg.
Currently, Tien Giang province has approximately 5,000 hectares of green pomelo orchards. Of that, over 4,000 hectares of green pomelo trees are already bearing fruit, with a yield of over 10 tons per hectare.

Following the successful merger of An Giang province, Kien Giang now has 37 more mystical mountains of the Thất Sơn range.
Green-skinned pomelos from Tien Giang province are of very high quality, bear fruit all year round, and are widely grown in Chau Thanh district, Cho Gao district, My Tho city, etc.

Compared to last month, the price of green pomelo in Tien Giang has increased by more than 10,000 VND/kg. According to growers of this specialty fruit, at this price, each kilogram of green pomelo yields a profit of over 10,000 VND.

With recent support from specialized agencies, pomelo growers adhering to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards are linking with businesses and cooperatives to serve the export market.

Mr. Nguyen Van Quang, a farmer growing green pomelos in Truong Xuan B hamlet, Thanh Binh commune, Cho Gao district (Tien Giang province), is tending to his family’s delicious pomelo orchard.
Ms. Ho Thi Lan Anh, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors and Director of Thanh Cong Dao Thanh Cooperative, Dao Thanh commune, My Tho city (Tien Giang province), said: “Green-skinned pomelos are very delicious, and customers highly favor and trust them.”
