Vietnamese green pomelo

Green pomelo or green skin pomelo is the name of Vietnamese grapefruit with green skin, pink flesh. Green pomelo tastes a little bit sour and sweet, with a big berry flavor. It is very juicy. Green pomelo is very good for health.

Green pomelo is spherical in shape, peel is green to yellowish green when ripe, easy to peel and fairly thin (14–18 mm), pink-red pomelo cloves, tightly bundled and easy to separate from the septum; aroma; meat/fruit ratio >55%.

Vietnamese green pomelo sizes are from 0.6kg to 2.2kg++

* Little size (Bi) : 0.6kg -1kg per fruit
* Small size : 1kg-1.2kg
* Medium size : 1,2kg – 1.4kg
* Big size : 1.4kg – 1.8kg
* Huge size : 1.8kg – 2.2kg++

Brix of Green Pomelo

When green pomelo ripes, its brix will be from 10% to 16%.

When brix of green pomelo is 10.5%, it is ready for harvesting to export.

Temperature for Green Pomelo

To keep long time, green pomelo should keep in cold chain, from 5oC to 12oC. Higher temperature, the skin may turn into yellow.

Green Pomelo shelf life

Green pomelo shelf life is about 3 months in a cold chain or 1-2 weeks in a natural room condition.
